Ultimate Warrior to NWA: TNA?

Post by David E. Powel » Fri, 08 Jan 2010 13:56:20

Figuring that the audience comments were cherry picked that went to
air Monday night, with fans on the street and in the crowd saying what
they liked in wrestling, I notice that at least one of the comments
was about how wrestling was fun for them when Ultimate Warrior was
doing his thing.

TNA's comments all seemed to promote people that were coming that
night, or had already appeared in NWA: TNA, but the Warrior stood out
for me. He hadn't been there before and wasn't there Monday, but maybe
they are teasing the possibility down the road.

Food for thought.

He is one of those guys they could bring in who would generate a lot
of buzz. Maybe another reason for WWE to talk with him. Heck if Vince
brought Bret Hart back to RAW I could see Ultimate Warrior coming
back. Or Savage.

Ultimate Warrior to come to TNA ? That would be the biggest shocker in
years.. and blunder.

He used to have decent draw in the 90's but bookers and talent say he's too
tough to deal with. No-selling and no-showing events all the time. He
essentially retired in 1999 but always said he's about to make the huge
comeback to take the industry by storm etc etc.  He's 50 and a nutcase...The
smallfeds have reportedly thought about booking him and he did have a match
a fewyears ago, but the big name feds would be taking a huge gamble with
him.

If figured a mark like DEP would start this.

I'm reading Bret's book right now, and some of the stoires about this
guy. Jim Hellwig is a piece of garbage and deserves nothing but a shit
sandwich from the business. He stunk the first time, he stunk ten
years ago, and he stinks now.

Its been gone for at least a few years now, 1 day for no real reason at all
NWA decided to they didn't want to play with the bigger children so they
took their ball home & went off crying to their mommies.  So TNA created
their own titles, on Impact 17th May 07 to be exact, I just checked in my
blog.

NWA took the belts somewhere else.

Actually, it was TNA's decision to seperate from the NWA.

IOW Woyah's fanbase is even more retarded and mark oriented than Hogan's
huh?  Good to know.

I guess it depends whose views you were reading at the time. Most stuff I
read said it was NWA's idea.
I can't believe TNA were so stupid as to distance themselves from titles
with such history.
Although anythings possible in wrestling.
