TNA Files Lawsuit Against WWE, Claims Company is Stealing Talent
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 05.24.2012

Based on insider information

- TNA has filed a lawsuit against WWE and former TNA and WWE employee
Brian Wittenstein. The company filed the lawsuit yesterday in
Nashville with charges of interference with existing contracts,
conversion, breach of contract, civil ***, unfair competition,
and violation of the Tennessee Uniform Trade Secrets Act. Wittenstein
is also being sued for breach of duty of loyalty.

The suit claims that Wittenstein, who worked for the company for three
years from 2008 2011, gave WWE inside information on contracts and
other details from his time working with the company and that WWE is
trying to steal talent from the company via that information.
Wittenstein was hired by WWE earlier this year but was let go in
April, which TNA claims is after they were presented with the
information. However, WWE did not inform TNA that they had been given
that information for several weeks.

TNA claims that they were informed of the insider information on May
7th and that several days later, Ric Flair approached TNA trying to
get out of his contract so he could go to WWE. The company says Flair
hasn't appeared at events since. Alex Shelley, who is rumored to be
heading to WWE, was not mentioned in the lawsuit.

An injunction has been issued demanding that WWE and Wittenstein
return whatever confidential material Wittenstein obtained from TNA
and were specifically instructed not to destroy any of the material. A
hearing is set for next month.

You think they would wait until Ric Flair signs with WWE cuz he's

It's wrestling, all promoters are crooked conniving back biting sneaky
pieces of shit trying to monopolize the business. Goes back to the NWA
meaning association not alliance which took it even further. Grow up
TNA. You have screwed over the K.O.'s and your young guns for years.
Take it like an *** and play the game or get out of the business.

Posted By: VKM (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 06:01 PM

Well it depends on what exactly the information was, but there is no
way you can prevent talent from talking to another company, especially
since they aren't even employees but are ICs. The existence of a
contract and the length of a contract also are not confidential
information, and by law can be shared by any of the parties...

OK NOW TNA is desperate

either that or the coffin just a wooden pin cushion at this point

Posted By: The Rev (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 06:02 PM

I thought flair was a drunk and TNA and Spike sent him home for acting
like a douche drunk in Orlando bars and hotels according to the same
source site. Now it's because he wanted out of the deal?

A law suit based on speculation and rumour? Good luck with that one.

Posted By: Guest#9115 (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 06:07 PM

What the ***....

Posted By: eric (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 06:10 PM

Soo, is this part of that upside we'd see in a few months for letting
Flair show up at HOF that Dixie was talking about?

Posted By: Confused (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 06:11 PM

Doesn't say stealing talent outright. It just says their ex-employee
is giving away internal information. WWE can offer more money to any
TNA talent they want no matter what. TNA could try to do the same with
WWE talent if they really wanted to.

Posted By: Guest#4861 (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 06:11 PM

HA! TNAs 1 lawyer from texas has NO CHANCE IN HELL of winning this.

Posted By: mr halliday (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 06:12 PM

Vince will be Vince until he dies

Posted By: Double D (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 06:14 PM

Dear Vince,

Please counter-sue, and buy TNA already. For the tape library alone.

Posted By: Cactus (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 06:15 PM

You do not get to be as big as the WWE from being honest.

Posted By: Theif (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 06:21 PM

I'm sorry, was TNA not around during the Monday Night Wars? Rick Rude
was on both shows on the SAME NIGHT!!!

They should want WWE to desire their talent.

Posted By: Guest#4317 (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 06:23 PM

excuse me while i laugh at TNA. lol... haahahahahaaha. TNA is so
stupid. i could care less what the TNA trolls say anymore TNA is
stupid and wont win this case. its not WWE's fault that talent like
matt morgan, flair, and alex shelly rather go to a better company like
WWE instead of stay in TNA.. and lol at the unfair competition claim.
WWE > TNA forever!!

Posted By: Guest#4660 (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 06:24 PM

this is lame.

Posted By: Guest#5409 (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 06:26 PM

i am sure TNA will lose fans cause of this. cause some fans that watch
WWE were also watching TNA but i am sure they will lose a lot of fans
cause of this.

Legitimately the funniest news I've heard all year.

Oh boy the comments here are going to be quite interesting.

Posted By: Guest#6313 (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 06:33 PM

Hey, I didn't know that Shelley was going to the 'E! Hopefully they
will give him a fair shot.

Posted By: Mr. Magnanimous (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 06:36 PM

Seriously TNA? That is inside information? It's the wrestling business
anyone can get that information. Hunter could call Flair or have Nash
call Shelley and get that information. Who you suing next the dirt
sheets for revealing the same information. This is so pathetic and
desperate. WWE will own the video library soon anyway. Your ratings
have never gotten a 2 and you get less than 10,000 buys for PPVs. Big
shock that talent wants off the sinking ship to go to the WWE.

Posted By: Spidey2885 (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 06:36 PM

wait? when did TNA ever have "talent"

Posted By: me (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 06:36 PM

As if Vince needs insider information to sign any TNA wrestler. If he
decides he wants someone, he will get them simply by cleaning the
cobwebs off his wallet

Posted By: Guest#9771 (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 06:39 PM

And to that I say... bwahahahahahahaha.

Posted By: Xenomorph (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 06:40 PM

TNA has talent?

Posted By: ruderic (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 06:43 PM

Who did they steal?

Posted By: Guest#2448 (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 06:47 PM

Oh this should be good...

Posted By: Guest#0923 (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 06:49 PM

So does that qualify as "tawdry"?

Posted By: Jeff (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 06:50 PM

who did WWE steal? Seemed to me TNA was the one picking up WWE talent

Posted By: APrince66 (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 06:50 PM

Give it to them tna! Hope they win the lawsuit.

Posted By: dam (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 06:51 PM

I want TNA to sign Davey Richards before he hangs it up next year

Posted By: Guest#6938 (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 06:52 PM

There's a difference between stealing talent and the talent running
from a burning building.

Posted By: Walt (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 06:53 PM

They want a paper trail that probably doesn't exist. Unless there is a
paper trail, there's no way they can prove any of this. Wittenstein
could have told them everything he knew and both him and WWE could
deny conversations about that knowledge even happened.

Posted By: Guest#1719 (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 06:56 PM

I don't know if they have a case...but this is INTERESTING to say the

Posted By: wcwfan (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 07:05 PM

Is this was Carter got for allowing Flair to be shown during the HOF

Posted By: turbo_fattie (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 07:07 PM

That would imply that TNA had talent the WWE wanted to steal.

Good luck get anyone to believe that!

Posted By: Guest#2774 (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 07:10 PM

*** TNA, Otunga is on the case!

Posted By: Billy_Pilgrim (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 07:15 PM

"Stealing Talent" LOL

Posted By: Guest#1462 (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 07:16 PM

Even if they win the suit, this is a huge mistake. Vince has let TNA
enjoy their crappy little existence and now he is going to ***ing
kill them and dump their body behind Titan Towers, pulling the tape
library out of their chest as their corpse falls to the ground.

Posted By: Chris (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 07:20 PM

*** T&A they is dunn. Their is no wayy dey can compete moneyz weis
with WWE. RIP ATTITUDE ERA. PG 14 is deadd. By the way I was just
watching Over the Edge 99 this morning.

Posted By: dililkidisback (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 07:22 PM

LOL this won't end well for TNA, final nail in the coffin

Posted By: Bill (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 07:23 PM

Since wwe took over wcw & took all their talent, ratings are about
half of what they were then. Then they took ecw talent & made an ecw
show, which soon folded. Now they're trying to take even more talent &
get rid of more healthy competition. There's the wonderful thinking of
the great genius vinnie mac. Way to ruin things.

Posted By: Bart (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 07:29 PM

WWE should counter-sue for the ludicrous insinuation that TNA has

TNA is about to look like jokes real soon

Posted By: Guest#9275 (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 07:33 PM

remember in '96 when people said Vince was being a baby cuz he sued
WCW for the same thing, instead of concentrating on good storylines?

Posted By: ***ic (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 07:34 PM

WWE will give TNA nothing and like it.

Posted By: Guest#4818 (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 07:37 PM

TNA has no money

Posted By: Guest#9552 (Guest)  on May 24, 2012 at 07:37 PM

if anyone takes talent its TNA that takes WWE talent and WWE only gets
ROH talent. AND ROH don't care if WWE takes their talent either. TNA
is stupid, really stupid.
