To have a "Safe Record" with Amu***t Safety Organization, an amu***t
venue must properly and promptly address matters referred to it by the
Amu***t Safety Organization, and be free from an unusual volume or
pattern of complaints and safety infractions, including injury.
When evaluating information, the number of inquires filed against the
amu***t venue may not be as important as the type of inquires and how
the company handled them.
The Inside Tracker project set out to observe whether information about
Six Flags Magic Mountain Amu***t Park was valid, and made useful for
guest deciding to visit this venue. The resulting set of data elements
is to be used for the purpose of patron safety and patron awareness.
As part of the process, patrons were encouraged to input first-hand
information to facilitate ongoing independent research conducted by
Amu***t Safety Organization. The intent was for a number of patrons to
provide information not otherwise accessible that could be assembled
into a single database. The data would be further integrated with other
information created for research accessrecords with and without
imagesand the resulting resource evaluated for its value to the
patrons, amu***t safety community, and the amu***t industry.
What we learned about:

As the project got started:
*Extracting data from the venue was not difficult.
*85% of those polled enjoy the low season pass price, but feel it takes
away from the value of their visit.
*why so much negativity regarding this venue?
*a lot of roller coasters running one train?
*speeding and unsafe conditions within parking lot?
During the course of this independent project:
*disturbing trend: patrons describing how they had to dodge cars
speeding and being clipped by vehicles leaving this venues parking lot.
Patrons indicated that this venues parking lot at closing is unsafe and
an accident waiting to happen.
*85% of those polled indicated that the reduced price for a season pass
cheapens the experience of visiting Magic Mountain. A number of those
patrons stating, "you get what you pay for."
*a number of workers we spoke with have commented on their dislike for
their job and the poor operation of the venue at which they work at. A
number of workers stating some interesting comments (in what working at
Magic Mountain is like) which helps understand why this park has
received so many bad remarks concerning its customer service.
*injury response to injuries poor, which is normal for the amu***t
*safety concerns being monitored on Goliath roller coaster, X roller
coaster, and various attractions and sections throughout the venue.
*poor line control within attraction queues has and will lead to unsafe
conditions for patrons. Various comments found in our detailed report
indicate that many patrons fear for their personal safety while waiting
for an attraction.
*The creation of this independent study answered two important
this venue has a lot of work to do in order to please its guest. It's
marketing strategies may bring more people in, but at the expense of
cheapening the park experience?
like most Six Flags venues, customer satisfaction has taken a back seat
to cutting prices and trying to get more patrons through the turnstiles,
hoping they will spend money. At what point will this venue stop trying
to make a quick buck, instead focusing on patron distress and ensuring
patrons have a good time and want to come back? Not walking away
despising the venue and their experience.
More unannounced safety observation visits are awaiting dispatch for Six
Flags Magic Mountain. Amu***t Safety Organization is also forming
various strategies in order to assist this venue in a wide range of
areas, using information obtained from patrons and through our recently
