Type of Business: Amu***t Park
Venue Affiliation: Six Flags.

The information in this independent report has been compiled by
Amu***t Safety Organization and from the general public.

PATRON EXPERIENCE

Based on Inside Tracker files, this company has a extremely poor rating
by patrons.

To have a "Safe Record" with Amu***t Safety Organization, an amu***t
venue must properly and promptly address matters referred to it by the
Amu***t Safety Organization, and be free from an unusual volume or
pattern of complaints and safety infractions, including injury.

When evaluating information, the number of inquires filed against the
amu***t venue may not be as important as the type of inquires and how
the company handled them.

BRIEF SUMMARY

The Inside Tracker project set out to observe whether information about
Six Flags Magic Mountain Amu***t Park  was valid, and made useful for
guest deciding to visit this venue. The resulting set of data elements
is to be used for the purpose of patron safety and patron awareness.

As part of the process, patrons were encouraged to input first-hand
information to facilitate ongoing independent research conducted by
Amu***t Safety Organization. The intent was for a number of patrons to
provide information not otherwise accessible that could be assembled
into a single database. The data would be further integrated with other
information created for research accessrecords with and without
imagesand the resulting resource evaluated for its value to the
patrons, amu***t safety community, and the amu***t industry.

What we learned about:

Six Flags Magic Mountain
As the project got started:

*Extracting data from the venue was not difficult.
*85% of those polled enjoy the low season pass price, but feel it takes
away from the value of their visit.
*why so much negativity regarding this venue?

*a lot of roller coasters running one train?

*speeding and unsafe conditions within parking lot?

During the course of this independent project:

*disturbing trend: patrons describing how they had to dodge cars
speeding and being clipped by vehicles leaving this venues parking lot.
Patrons indicated that this venues parking lot at closing is unsafe and
an accident waiting to happen.
*85% of those polled indicated that the reduced price for a season pass
cheapens the experience of visiting Magic Mountain. A number of those
patrons stating, "you get what you pay for."
*a number of workers we spoke with have commented on their dislike for
their job and the poor operation of the venue at which they work at. A
number of workers stating some interesting comments (in what working at
Magic Mountain is like) which helps understand why this park has
received so many bad remarks concerning its customer service.

*injury response to injuries poor, which is normal for the amu***t
industry.

*safety concerns being monitored on Goliath roller coaster, X roller
coaster, and various attractions and sections throughout the venue.

*poor line control within attraction queues has and will lead to unsafe
conditions for patrons. Various comments found in our detailed report
indicate that many patrons fear for their personal safety while waiting
for an attraction.
*The creation of this independent study answered two important
questions:

this venue has a lot of work to do in order to please its guest. It's
marketing strategies may bring more people in, but at the expense of
cheapening the park experience?

like most Six Flags venues, customer satisfaction has taken a back seat
to cutting prices and trying to get more patrons through the turnstiles,
hoping they will spend money. At what point will this venue stop trying
to make a quick buck, instead  focusing on patron distress and ensuring
patrons have a good time and want to come back? Not walking away
despising the venue and their experience.

More unannounced safety observation visits are awaiting dispatch for Six
Flags Magic Mountain. Amu***t Safety Organization is also forming
various strategies in order to assist this venue in a wide range of
areas, using information obtained from patrons and through our recently
completed observation visits. More info to come....

Magic Mountain RATED EXTREMELY POOR

Post by lkgeo » Fri, 10 Jun 2005 03:59:33

First Albany just put out a very bullish High Yield Report on PKS. Here
are some highlights:

FINANCIAL:

1Q04 1Q05 2004 2005Estimated
Revenues $45 $54 $1,038 $1,121
EBITDA N/A N/A $ 260 $350
Attendance 1,314 1,644 33,486 35,160

QUALITATIVE CONSIDERATIONS:

Refinancing and Deleveraging: They think PKS will refinance out the
preferreds and the 8.875%s of 2010 with Term Loans that both extend
maturities and reduce interest rates.

Use of Real Estate: PKS is cutting deals on its underutilized,
contiguous properties, contributing land to JVs for development and
taking back a interest in the cash flows. PKS has done a JV with a
hotel developer on the Lake George, NY property and will open this
Winter, a 200 room hotel with indoor water park. This will generate
cash flow for PKS in their once down period. Additionally, PKS has a
JV with a Largo, MD developer to re-zone some 120 useable acres for
residential use.

Trades Cheap to Comps: Cedar Fair (FUN) is the only legitimate comp.
While FUN has 1/3 the leverage of PKS, they have only ? the revenues
and dont have the breadth of properties nor the geographic
diversification of PKS. FUN trades at 13X EBITDA and they suggest that
PKS should be valued at 10-11X.

Private Equity Deal: They suggest that activity in the review of theme
park properties is picking up on Blackstones success with Universal
Florida and their purported 10X bid for LegoLand. Additionally, the
royal family of Dubai recently bought Tussauds. FUN bought PKS
Aurora, OH park for over9X EBITDA, despite its being a 2nd tier
competitor in the area. FUN is rumored to be interested in other PKS
properties and PKS may ultimately jettison less interesting properties.

VALUATION - At 2005 Estimated EBITDA of $350mm:
10X 11X
Enterprise Value: $3,500 $3,850
Debt & Prefs 2,596 2,596
-------- --------
Enterprise Value/Share: $ 904 $1,254
Total Shares: 93 93
EV per Share: $9.72 $13.48

A Good Magic Mountain Trip Report (Bout' Time)
Six Flags Magic Mountain: Call the news. Call the feds. I went to Magic
Mountain and actually enjoyed myself.

 By Jason Lester

Statements below are the work of their authors and not necessarily the
opinion of Theme Park Insider.
I just returned from Six Flags Magic Mountain and if you can't tell by
now, had fun. I went with Cortney, my brother's nanny, and my friend
Gil. The park was open from 10-8 and wasn't crowded at all. The only
ride with a line was Riddler's Revenge. So I'm taking a different
approach to today's report and going ride by ride in order I did them.
If you're wondering where it is, X was closed.

Goliath: First coaster. Good warm-up. The drop is good, but after that
it gets a bit blah. There is a cool helix with intense G's, but that's
all I can say for this. 6/10

Colussus:Vibrates a lot. A LOT. Otherwise, just okay. 5/10

Scream: This is the park's best coaster. I can't compare to X which I
was closed and I haven't ridden but we all went three times on Scream.
All in the front. The front offers a very surreal feeling, as if you're
alone on a coaster. Incredible. Some nice inversions, a good drop, and
some solid G's make this a great coaster. 10/10

Batman: Again, all three of us went. However, Batman is way too short.
There are good inversions and G's, but the length is an issue. I'm glad
we didn't really have to wait. An okay coaster. 6/10

Riddler's Revenge: 2nd best coaster in the park. Rode twice, used a
Fastpass the first time, but still waited 45 minutes for the front. The
lady working there was very rude to us. But, great coaster. Awesome
drop and very good inversions. The restraints hurt certain areas if you
know what I mean. 9.5/10

Then we ate some lunch. Food was average.

Spin Out: Gave me a splitting headache. 4/10

Psyclone: Better than Collusus, but still very rough. 6/10

Deja Vu: Now were talking. I got Row 14, with the seats jutting out.
Going back up the first tower is awesome. The rest is just okay. Nice
loop though. 7/10

Roaring Rapids: We went twice. Lockers are a must. They only cost 50
cents. One word sums this up: drenched. 6/10

Ninja: Okay until the anti-climatic lift hill at he end. Ruins an
otherwise okay ride. The best part is going over the lake. 4/10

Arrowhead Splashdown: We went three times. Log Jammer is much better.
The drop in the dark is fun while the final is just okay. The ride is
suprisingly rough and left me bruised. 5/10

Grinder Gearworks: A bit better then Spin Out if you like spinning.
5/10

Revolution: Ouch. My head hurt incredibly bad after being jostled
around on this one. Ride only to say you were on the first modern
looper. Otherwise, skippable. 4/10

Viper: A cool coaster with good inversions. The first drop is average,
but the loop up the hill is cool. Two corkscrews in a row is fun also.
A bit rough on the head is the downside. 6/10

Dive Devil: I went alone as Gil and Cortney watched. $25 is pricey.
Being alone up there is an incredible feeling. It was silent and all I
could hear was the wind blowing. Peaceful. And then I pulled the
ripcord. Intense. Well worth the time. If not for the price it would
have a 10. 9/10

Go Carts: No different from other go carts. Relatively uninspiring
layout. Cheap to do though at $6. 5/10

Superman: Better the first time. A short wait though and it's worth a
spin if the line isn't bad. Nice launch, but a lot of time spent in
line for a seconds will frusturate most people. 7/10

Log Jammer: Better then Arrowhead Splashdown. Nice drop at the end. A
fun ride. 7/10

And that's that. A small and friendly crowd plus awesome rides made
this a cool day. The day overall gets a 9.5/10

Wow Jason! I never thought I'd see the day when someone had a good time
at this theme park (no offence meant to those who disagree, but its my
opinion). Its nice to know you had a good trip. Keep on posting!

It doesn't take much to find Magic Mountain rated extremely poor in this
