Flat Ride Manufacturer Help?

Post by Surf Dance Chr » Sat, 19 Aug 2000 13:11:01

Couple of quick questions:

Who are the manufacturers of the following rides:
Skyscraper (like at Congo River Golf)
Skydiver (like at Lakemont)
Caterpillar (like at Idlewild)
Air Racer (like at SFOG)

What are the technical names (if different) for the following:
Flying Machine at BGW and Sandstorm at BGT-also who is the manufacturer?
Air Racer at SFOG
Fireball by KMG

Thank you!

That is made by Gravity Works.  They specialize in bungee jumping related
attractions.  Their website is at http://www.gravityworks.com/idx_main.htm

It is called Orbiter, and is manufactured by AmTech.  I rode the one at BGT,
and I have ridden some traveling ones, the one at BGT is significantly slowed
down.

I dotn know any of the other ones.

Intamin, probably subcontracted to Ride Trade. I
don't know of any made since the SFoG and
SFoT versions, back in 1984.

Barnstormer. It is an update to an older Bradley
and Kaye ride. World's of Fun and Opryland had
them.

: Couple of quick questions:

: Who are the manufacturers of the following rides:
: Skyscraper (like at Congo River Golf)

Gravity Works! or whatever they are calling themselves now.

: Skydiver (like at Lakemont)

Chance.

: Caterpillar (like at Idlewild)

Allan Herschell

: Air Racer (like at SFOG)

(don't know that one)

: What are the technical names (if different) for the following:
: Flying Machine at BGW and Sandstorm at BGT-also who is the manufacturer?

That's a Tivoli Orbiter.  Marketed in the USA by AmTech, so you might see
either listed as manufacturer.

: Air Racer at SFOG

I already said I didn't know about that one...

: Fireball by KMG

The one here in Columbus, #KMG-98-FRB-24-006, says "Fireball" on the data
plate.

Noticing the similarity between the KMG Fireball and the Tivoli Spin Out,
I wonder if there is some manufacturing connection between KMG and Tivoli...
