Extremely Short Kennywood Observation 6/25

Two trains on Phantom.

Two trains on Thunderbolt.

Not a particularly heavy crowd on first hot and humid day this year.
Longest wait approx. 20 min for Log Jammer and Exterminator.  On Phantom in
about 15 from entering queue, line only out to just before station house.

Was I lucky?

Melody (Combine the above with $16 ride all day tix from the local credit
union, and I am a very happy person tonight.)

No, crowds are light at all parks except CP.

I went to KW a few weeks ago and Phantoms Revenge was only running 1
train, and the wait was 1 cycle.
Exterminator was a walkon.

The only park that I found crowded this year, was SFOG in April.

I'd have to say that people are still staying away from the parks.
You'll find people in them when you go, but it's not nearly the crowds
of the 2000 year boom.

I think everyone is just like me.  They saw the TV shows in the year
2000, went to the parks, and now they've done it.
Parks went "family ride" on us, or put in nothing, and now the fans
don't care.

I'm starting to feel that way too.  I've been on most rides, and after
a while, they all seem the same.

I have heard a couple of ads on the radio for KW here in Pittsburgh,
and it is interesting that anytime the economy goes south, they say
"take your family vacation here!"....KW has been doing this since the
1930s, not that there is anything wrong about it. I think they are
doing the same thing with Idewild as well.

Just an observation!
