YouTube video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=cJqhApNBjes

Half the ride is missing from the front POV, especially the part where it goes over the gate.   Many cut shots.    People don't know how to make a video, I keep saying that over and over.    SHOW THE ENTIRE POV WITH NO CUT SHOTS.

That POV makes the ride look like it's only 30 seconds.   Going through the first 2 loops, and then the brake run.    Is that it?

Gate Keeper?   At least it abbreviates to GK.

The record breaker is length.
X-Flight = 3000 feet.
Wild Eagle = 3127
Gate Keeper = 4164

Need a better POV.     Need to name each element, it's not called a TWISTY.

Go to cedarpoint.com, there are three videos - promo, complete POV, and off-ride.

It also breaks records as tallest and fastest wing coaster, and the only one with six inversions.

Found it, good.    Hidden away where I didn't see it.

The two fly bys of the towers look cool.   That seems like the gimmick.

Ending looks really uneventful. Needed something a bit special if the post-MCBR block is so short - a trench dive, tunnel, or something like that. As it stands I'd almost rather it just hit the final brakes after the 2nd zero-G over the entrance plaza.

Right, 800k people watched the video, and they're asking if the coaster goes backwards at the end.    That would be cool if it did.    So it's not 800k people think like you, and only one thinks like me.   I can guarantee you there's a bunch of people who think it will go backwards.

That's going to be the comical saying of this ride.   It gets to the end and then shoots backwards, because it was on the video.

I have more to say since I know the CP people are going to read this.

GK adds a new ride to the Thrill Ride Tour.    Have all 5 of them operating at 9am when the park opens early for the onsite guests.

The thrill ride tour is now Maverick, MF, GK, Raptor, TTD.    I've heard that TTD is opening at 9am, that's good.   In the past it opened at 10am and they had to start with 2 people, then 4, and increase a row at a time until it warmed up.

CP, you know the world is coming next year.   If you want to impress everyone and make them come back, have all 5 rides running at 9am, all trains, tested, ready to go.   That means running TTD with water dummies to warm up at 08:30am.    And yes, that means giving the TTD crew an extra half hour on the clock.

Why is this so hard to do?

And yes Dave, I know the parks don't owe me anything, they owe it to EVERYONE who shows up to have all rides testing and operating when the park opens.

If they can have a crew walking a woodie at 4am like they talk about on the TV shows, then they can load water dummies into TTD at 08:30am and warm it up, so that when the crowd runs there at 9am, they can load a full train.     There's nothing that pissed me off more than jogging to a ride, only to be stopped at the gate while everyone catches up and cuts the line.   Kids get to the front, then the parents catch up 5 minutes later and cut.

Agreed. Very, very frustrating, when a park is supposed to have rides
open by a certain time, but then don't (barring last minute technical
difficulties and/or weather, of course).

Thanks Surf.

Hey Dave, could you give a play by play on ride accurately?   I doubt it.   Are you looking to ride shotgun with Rob or Coasterforce?   I am.   There's the difference.   You can only rag, while I ride.    Are you going to the media day event?  Let's see.     I'm going only to prove I can give a better play by play than everyone else, and I can.

Do you know all the elements.   Can you name the first one?

It's called a drop down inversion.    Not a TWISTY.   Weeee.      Can you name it on the ride with the wind blowing in your hair?  I can.    Why?   Because my mic will have a wind screen.   What a concept.     I shoot band videos.   I know what needs to be done.

So let's see who gets a pass and who shoots the better POV.

Actually, I thought of something even better.    Don't speak on the ride.   Just tape the POV from start to finish, and add the play by play later.    There's no reason to scream into a mic.    Look at the food shows, like Man V. Food and Diners Drive-ins and Dives.   They shoot the host in the restaurant talking to the owners, but they also add in more narration after the fact.   But it would help if the person taping the POV has a windscreen on their mic.

Cedar point has detailed the maneuvers on their web site here.
http://www.cedarpoint.com/gatekeeper/the-ride

Wing Over Drop once riders crest the top of the lift hill, the coaster train will rotate 180 degrees to the right, turning riders upside down before plummeting toward the ground at speeds of more than 65 mph!
Immelmann a maneuver where riders enter a half loop, go through a half twist and curve out in the opposite direction from which they came.
Camelback riders will fly over a giant, 105-foot-tall camelback hill that will be filled with airtime!
Giant Flat Spin a hair-raising 360-degree flip that will provide two different ride experiences for guests on each side of the train.
Zero-G-Roll a flying element that takes riders through two support towers that will dominate Cedar Points new Main Entrance.
Inclined Dive Loop a tight, 180-degree turnaround pushes riders through an overbanked turn and rockets them back towards the station.
360 In-Line-Roll an element that will take riders extremely close to the new massive support towers while flying over guests entering the park below.
Camelback Drop a quick drop that will help propel the train and its guests through the rides final thrilling element, the spiral.
Spiral GateKeepers track rotates a wicked 360 degrees before bringing the coasters train back to the ride station.

The question now, is how fast is the coaster going through each element, and how much are the G-forces?

We know the first one is 65 mph, and I'd guess there's about 4Gs just like most of their rides.    What about the rest of the elements?

There's already a POV on their site
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9fLbdwq8_k&feature=player_embedded

People can practice their play by play right now, or download that video using YouTube get, and put in the narration using Sony Vegas.

Now I need the approximate speed the coaster is going in each element.

The problem is that you DON'T actually understand that the parks don't owe
you anything other than admission and some operating rides.

And they don't really even owe you that, after all, since you can't get
those at two parks, since you're banned.

If I gave a ***, I could give one and tell you all about them.  But I
don't.

And don't need to ride shotgun with Robb to feel important.  I know his
name and how to actually spell it.  I'm sure we'll ride something together
in China.  And I won't be narrating the nerd facts while I do so.

By the way, Twister is Sweden is REALLY TWISTY!

Got banned from Universal for letting his kid drink *** during the Halloween event a couple years ago. Made such a big stink about refusing to talk with the security there citing "Stop Snitching" that they banned him for life instead of a year.
