CP Closing Day Question

Post by Daniel J. Haverloc » Tue, 17 Oct 2000 04:00:00

This is just a question for all of those people who were at closing day last
year on the Magnum platform complaining and crying on how they "thought"
that they deserved the last train of the season on Magnum; Where were you
this year???

Hehe, I was there last year and was trying to get the last ride on Magnum last
year (never cried about it to ride ops or stuff like that, I'm sorry, but that
is just pathetic).  I was, of course, at Millennium Force for my last ride of
the CP season yesterday, and got one HELL of a ride.  We didn't wait for the
very last train, but were within maybe the last six or seven.  Completely foggy
and no lights anywhere on the course (minus lift hill).  How was your guys'
last ride on Magnum?  We talked to a ride op on Magnum as we were leaving the
park at 8:45pm EST and he said the last train was filled with lots of "coaster
people."  I bet the fog was awesome over there as well.

I myself didn't see any of those folks the entire day yesterday.  Perhaps
they didn't want to even try going to CP for closing day?

Believe it or not, but that was one of the reasons why I didn't go back to
Magnum for the last ride. I just remember how ugly it got last year with a
few people.  Seeing people cry or *** at ride operators for not getting
the last ride is not my idea of a fun time.

Acutally, it was kind of anti-climatic.  There were only about 20 people on
the train, most of them enthusiasts.  No real drama, just a nice double
brakeless ride to end the season, as it should be.  Of course I'm not going
to complain about anything, I was in the ejector seat :)

The back seat wasn't too shabby either :o)  And you're right, a double brakeless
ride is the way to go.

So who all was on that last train over at Magnum?  I remember seeing:

Myself
CP Irvine
Dave Althoff
Scott Short
Dan Haverlock
Coaster Jerry

I know there were others, though.
