Roll Call for Knoebels PPP Weekend

I've tried my best to simplify the roll call, using plans for Friday through
Sunday only. Obviously, PPP is on Saturday so anything listed before it is for
Friday and anything after it is for Sunday (format: Friday/Saturday/Sunday).
I've also tried to split up RRCers that fell in bunches or couples. Families
are generally listed together. Let's try to stick with this format. It looks
much cleaner! Let me know if I screwed anything up.

Well, it looks like I will also be joining everyone at PPP, even
though I originally thought I wasn't going to be able to go.  I've
talked with Walt though, and I'll need to crash with someone in their
tent, so if anyone has anymore room in their tent I'll be happy to
pick up some of the cost for renting the space.  Email me if you can
accomodate me, because I can't afford the room I reserved right now.
Especially not after going hog wild with souvenirs and food in
Orlando!  ;)  I'm going to be cancelling my reservation at the Budget
Host Patriot Inn in Bloomsburg, so my room will be available in the
next few days.  I can't wear a costume to PPP though, but next year
I'll definately bring one.  :)

Friday -  most people will either just be going to the camp grounds (such as
myself - plan on taking the day off from work to drive up there) while others
often visit other parks in the area, such as Dorney, SFGAdv,  Hershey Park, etc.

Saturday, of course, is the PPP event itself.

Sunday - Alot of folks stay at Kneobels for the "Hangover" to close out the park
(which is what I am going to do).  Others will be heading to Lakemont Park, which
is just outside of Altoona, PA for Ridefest - another (from what I here, a very
good) coaster enthusiast event .  That is to far out of the way to the west for
me, otherwise, I'd love to go.  The rest of the folks often head to other parks -
Dorney and SFGAdv seems to be the two most popular - often to renew season passes
for next year.  Still, others, just simply head on home and get some rest before
starting back to work or school on Monday.

I'll be a rookie out here with all of you.  Know a few of you, but
mostly I lurk here, so only a couple know me.

Since I'm from Cal, and am a total newbie to the parks, my hosts are
loading me up.  We're coming in from Akron, so our schedule looks
something like this:
Friday night- Cedar Point
Saturday driving to Dorney for a few hours
Saturday night- PPP and camp RRC
Sunday- Ridefest at Lakemont
And I'm hearing that if we're not dead, we may even try to catch SFWoA
on the way back Sun. night.  Whew.

yeah, sounds a bit crazy to me to,but we got several of us to share
driving with, so it shouldn't be to bad.

Looking forward to meeting a bunch of you.

Personally, I'd skip Dorney and just go to Knoebels for the PPP on Saturday,
escpecially since it'll save you from having to back-track.  However, I'll admit
that Steel Force and Talon are worth checking out, though.  If you are driving from
Cedar Point, you guys had better leave damn early in the morning.  It is easily a 6
plus hour drive from Cedar Point to Kneobels.

This will be my first, and possibly only, time out in the area, so the
guys are loading me up.  :-)

We'll actually be staying about an hour/ hour and a half towards
Knoebels coming from Cedar Point, so it won't be as bad of a drive
that morning.  I think it'll be something like 4-5 hours from what
they've said.  But I'm sure the plan is to leave plenty early as it
is, something like 5am from what I've heard.  We've got several of us
in the van to split the driving, so that part shouldn't be to bad.

I know, it sounds like we're doing a ton in the few short days that we
have.  Since I'm basically along for the ride coming from Cal, I'm
trusting the locals I'm with.  Hopefully I'm not trusting them more
than I should  ;-)

keep on ridin'
George
