Closing Weekend - Cedar Point - Roll Call

Closing Weekend - Cedar Point - Roll Call

Post by Iain Hendr » Fri, 02 Oct 1998 04:00:00

Well, that sad time of year has rolled around.

Yes, Cedar Point will be closing in about 10 days time. I know I'll be
there, for that whole weekend just livin' it up.

Last year I met Roz and she introduced me to many of you. At that time I
wasn't on r.r-c and didn't know much about roller coasters in general,
other than what I'd gathered from watching them from the ground.

So, I assume the same thing will happen this year - lots of acer's and
r.r-c'ers will be at the park. So my question is - who will be there?
Where will we meet?

As hard and painful as this is to talk about, it's something we must
face ... together.

Problem is, this year the Knoebel's Phunphest is the same weekend, so many
(over 100) r.r-c'ers will be there.  I have to be in the Youngstown OH area
that Sunday, so I'll go to the Point Fri. night and Sat.
Sat. will be busy.  Friday nights are GREAT--only part of the park is open, but
Raptor has been a WALK-ON!

There is a good chance that I won't be going to PPP. If that is the
case, then I WILL be at CP on the closing Sunday!!!  I say, meet at the
Magnum enterence at  1p.m. Sound good?

is not 100% sure if he will be at the meeting place at that time)

Hi all,

I will be there for the last six days.  Anyone interested in meeting up let me
know.  Is there going to be a special time and meeting place for the last day
day of the season for RRC'ers???  Forgive me now if I start crying during the
last ride on Magnum ;^(

I think that 12:00 noon (park opens at 9 - rides at 10, right?) is what
we did last year, want to do that instead? And it seems to me that the
magnum EXIT queue area (photo area) is where we'd met last year. That
area is big and open.

Just a thought!

No, it's park at 11:00am, rides at 12:00nn.  Bonus Weekend, you know.  At
least for the Sunday.

Agreed about the Magnum exit plaza being a better place than the
very-congested Magnum entrance.  Particularly since there are *TWO* Magnum
entrances...

I think the Magnum exit is a good spot. Most of us park are cars back
in the SOAK CITY parking lot, right?
