MF and SOB, steepness of lift hills?

MF and SOB, steepness of lift hills?

Post by Chris Retti » Fri, 19 May 2000 04:00:00

I was just curious. I noticed that a lot of the 'bigger' rides coming out
this year have rather steep inclines to them. Having only been on SOB, and
guessing the lift to be somewhat of a 45 degree angle, I was wondering at
what approx angle is MF. Since I won't be going until May 27th, I wanted
an idea of what to expect. It may just be me, but I find these sharper inclines
much more creepy, than say the standard 30-35 degrees.

I remember Jeff saying on the 8th that the lift on Son of Beast is ~38
degrees from the horizontal, and I know Millennium Force is ~45 degrees. I
always thought the "standard" was between 20 and 25 degrees.

Well, a couple of us ambushed a Physics student yesterday and got him to
check Magnum's lift with his inclinometer.  He came up with 28 degrees for
Magnum's lift.

Millennium Force is advertised as 45 degrees.
