Is it really expensive like other theme parks? Does it taste GOOD?  I need
to know this before I go.  Thanks a lot!

I'd say the best way to sum it up would be to say it is average theme park
food.  Some of its good - some of its bad - and its always more expensive than
eating at McDonalds.

Yes, I think so...BUT stick to the buffets, cafeteria style, and sitdown
restaurants.  The regular midway food is not very good, but I've had
meals at almost every other place and they were all decent.

The sandwich place on the midway near Cedar Downs was pretty good, and
relatively cheap. They make deli sandwiches to order.

Depends on your tastes. I really like their fries. of course, they are one
of the few locations that provides vinegar as a standard condiment.

As an employee, I really didn't eat much of the in-park food.  I ate in the
employee cafeteria and the break area behind the Stockade Refreshments.

What I suggest is to eat a really late lunch, and go to the Midway Market.
Its an all-you-can-eat buffet so eat until you're gonna puke.  Its at the
front of the park near the entrance to Raptor and the east side of Sky Ride.
Although its $13.77/person after taxes, the quality is pretty good, and you
can eat and eat and eat.  Just eat late so you're starving and you get your
money's worth.  Then, don't eat dinner in the park.  Wait until you leave
the park for dinner.

Or, if that's too expensive, you can try the turkey legs, but I don't know
if they'll still make them this late in the season.  They sell BBQ'ed turkey
legs next to the exit to Snake River Falls and the entrance to Thunder
Canyon, but only between a certain two hours of the day, which I can't
remember at the top of my head.  They're pretty good, but a bit on the dry
side.  The meat just slides right of the bone as well.

Those are the only places that I ate a meal at that guests had access to.
Actually, a guest could easily walk in to the employee cafeteria (Its next
to Macaroni's by Peanuts Playground, behind the Scrambler) but you'd
probably be asked to show a CP Employee ID if you tried to be served.

The only snack-type items I've eaten are the Elephant Ears and the
Cheese-On-A-Stick.  Elephant Ears are sold in two places: A stand next to
the train track crossing near Gemini in Frontiertown, and a place near
Disaster Transport.  They're pretty good, and rather large.
Cheese-On-A-Stick is only sold in a stand near the Frontiertown train
station in the back of the park.  The COAS is tasty, but when I had it, the
stick just about went through the cheese and everything just fell off the
stick.

Oh yeah, and if its hot, I'd recommend the smoothies they sell in the small
tubs.  They're a pretty good value.

-DJ

PS.  Employees don't get discounts on food, in case you wondered.  If we
want cheap food, we went to the break areas or the cafeteria, where a
cheeseburger, fries, and a soda (Free refills!) was $3.05, which ain't too
bad.

Well actually - the food in the park is pretty average but out of all places to
NOT eat - the Midway Market would be it.  The food was horrible - it was cold -
tasted terrible - and there were a lot of flys inside the "market."

Midway Market!!  Eat lunch there for less than $10.00, which includes unlimited
buffet, unlimited soft-drink refills and a great dessert bar including ice
cream.

I had pumpkin pie ice cream there this past weekend and it was delicious!

Definitely the best deal in the park in my opinion......

I ate the pizza in Raptor Plaza and it was good.

The best is the Midway Market near the entrance.  It's a buffet and costs
around $10-$15, depending on if you eat lunch or dinner.  The food is pretty
good and probably the best food deal in the park.

The Breakers has a nice breakfast buffet.

Midway market is by the far the best place there to eat. All you can eat, and
excellent food. A cariety as well. And it is alwyas hot and fresh, includes
dessert too!

You're the only person I've seen say that so far.  You must have come in on
a bad day or something.  When I was there, the food was great, and it was
plenty hot.

I ate in the Midway Market, and it was the worst meal I have EVER had at a
theme park.  Service was terible, they charged me dinner prices, even though my
reciept was stamped at the cash register for "lunchtime".  I literally had to
threaten the cashier with her job to get a manager to fix this problem.  There
wasn't ONE clean table in the entire place, but scads of employees standing
around talking.  The food was so so at best.  Flies outnumbered employees 20:1.
Next time I'll get a large order of French Fries on the midway, or go out to
the marina steak house, a much better deal in my eye!
