I got to ride Top Gun at the season pass holder's night last night, and
all I can say is "What a trip!" A totally amazing coaster.
One suggestion I have for riders is that you *not* ride in the front row the
first time you ride it. If at all possible ride it after dark, too. There's
a substantial piece of track hidden away where you can't see it, and going
through it blind the first time was amazing--I had absolutely no idea what
was going to happen, it just happened!
But be sure to ride in the front at least once, though. Incredible. You may
have to grovel to do it ("Please please let us in the front, our friend came
here all the way from Louisiana just to ride this") but it's worth it.
The left side of the trains seems to be noticably better than the right.
They did a fantastic job on the theming, but it doesn't seem to be completely
done just yet. I think they're still working on the landscaping.
Last night the Demon, the Tidal Wave, and the Edge weren't running. I don't
know if it was just lack of people to run them, or what. The Demon looks
great with a new red-and-black paint job; let's hope they restore the
lighting and mist effects that haven't been running for the last few years.
And maybe they can undo the changes they made last year that made it
I don't know what they did to the Grizzly, but it's running much better than
it has in the past. It still comes to almost a complete stop on the first
curve, and has enough dead time to let you knit a sweater while you ride, but
at least there are some good spots between the dead spots this year.
The Klingons, Vulcans, and Bajorans strolling around the park added a nice
Everytime I go and spot the old Whizzer boarding station I shed a tear.
I loved that ride!

to keep track of the level of nesting is the punctuational
