Oh well, I guess the inevitable has happened. Actually I'm kinda glad that
they decided to push its opening til next year since the fall is the best
time to go to SFGAd (read: shorter lines and less crowds). The opening of
The Chiller may have brought off-season crowds to the park and who of us
wants that. I really hope they could get this thing opened for opening day
'98. That would be a real treat since SFGAd is the first park I visit after
a long NJ winter.

Actually, it was not 2 weeks but 2 *days*! You were really lucky and
actually the only reason why I did not get to ride it was because I was
enjoying myself at PKD during Coaster Con XX. I wish I could have ridden
B&R:TC but frankly I wouldn't have traded in the good time I had at Coaster
Con for that.
>1. will SFGADV get a new ride next year?
Well, I'm not 100% certain but I've heard some stuff (actually mentioned
quite a while back on this newsgroup) from a very good source about their
plans for '98. Let me just say that it includes the re-design of an
existing themed land that most of you won't be too interested in. That's
all I'll say for now.
>2. Will they publisize this as their new ride, even though they already
>said it would open in 97?
Sadly, I'd say yes. Marketing of The Chiller died back in June and I'm
sure it will be resurrected in spring of 1998. Most people know that the
ride stands as a hunk of twisted steel this season but will be happy when
the ride finally opens in '98.
On The Chiller subject...did anyone read The Chiller article/review by
Mark Davidson in the latest ACE News? Why is there no mention that it's
currently closed? The article makes it sound as though it's still
open...what a tease!
Also, to anyone with Batman & Robin: The Chiller stuff with '97 written on
it (like the buttons given out at EastCoaster or brochures and stuff), HOLD
ON to it and store it in a good place! These will be heavily sought after
collectors items like the CP Banshee shirts and Silverwood Grizzly stuff.
On a final SFGAd note...anyone see the lame TV ads or hear the new radio
ads that advertise their coasters AND include Stuntman's Freefall as one of
them! My, how we try to sound cool.
Live to Ride,
