Post by Marcio T Mendon » Fri, 29 Jul 1994 09:59:41

I did search for a news group on sail boats, but didn't find it.

If there isn't one yet I think its time to have it.
What does everybodyelse think?

Marcio

ps: or maybe the sailing people is out there having fun
with no time for usenet.

I think you haven't been reading this group very long.

You've done an wonderful job on the search, Marcio; you should be proud.

Tommorow's lesson will be on *reading*.  Perhaps you'll enjoy that as
much as the search.  'Til then...

Marcio, you have "found" what you were searching for. This is it!

Pierre, the reason that the two factions are not separated is that we all (or
most anyway) feel that the co-existance of the two groups in one group, allows
for a sharing of information, experiences and comraderie. This is valuable.
Lord knows it doesn't happen on the water. As far as jetski's go, there is a
new group for them to post to also, which lightens the load when zipping thru
the postings. I might remind you that most readers have a "kill" function,
that will allow you to kill any post with a topic that matches that found in
it's kill file. That would save you time when the number of postings gets
too large. (I came back from vacation and found the count was way over 1000,
but it has been fun catching up!)

Marcio,
I completely agree with you but for some unknown (to me) reason they do
not want to separate sail and motor boats (i.e. we get stuck with the
jet-skis).  Don'k ask me why.  All I know is that is  sure is a pain to
have to zip through about 150 new articles a day!

Truth is, nobody has every made an official proposal for creating a sail
only newsgroup!!!   I guess nobody really wants one.

sigs..

NOT! Just joking.. relax..! And don't follow up this article.. we just
got over that last debate.

Oh no-no-no-no-no.  Not again.  The split/don't split discussion
raises its ugly head once again.  This time it's camouflaged.
I thought we just went through this crap, and I do mean crap,
a couple of months ago--maybe a coupla weeks ago.  I guess it's
time to leave again.

: I did search for a news group on sail boats, but didn't find it.

That's because so many of us (not all, by any means) like *boats*.  Welcome to
the world of boating.

: ps: or maybe the sailing people is out there having fun
: with no time for usenet.

Most of us are so e***d by it all that we do both (except for Dudley ;-)
