request info on double blade paddle for canoe

Post by whe.. » Tue, 17 Aug 1993 14:37:07

I was wondering If anybody could recommend a good double paddle that I could
use to solo paddle a mohawk 16 whitewater. I would like to keep the
paddle inexpensive and long enough to be functional. Awhile back I read where
someone on this net recommend such a paddle but I can't find that post in my
files. I would like to get the paddles' name/brand and the total lenght. This
paddle is mainly for stream use and some lakes.

Thanks in advance,

Mike Whelan

I think that was probably my post...  The company name is Lee's Value Right
(doesn't sound much like a paddle place does it!).  You can find them
listed in any of the annual directories of manufacturers.  They make an
asymetrical composite blade/oval aluminum shaft kayak paddle for $75 (incl.
shipping!) that is as light as my Sawyer Sea Feather.  The only non-wood
paddle I've ever handled that had "life" like a wood paddle.  He will
custom cut to any length you.
