I've done repair work on fiberglass boats Hobie, etc. and haven't had
any comebacks. Sand off the gelcoat and get down to good glass, get up
all the dust with a shopvac, then clean with laquer thinner or acetone.
Contact Sys.3 and West for info.

In the Spring I shall doing structural repair ona 1978 Chr 26.
I have been searching suppliers web sites for Epoxy technical
data but none of them mentions bond strength to old polyester
resin for a properly prepared joint.  There must be some
preference here.
Any experience or even opinions?
What about technical books on fibreglass repair?

I concur.  However, one should think through the job to the finishing material.
For example, it is not generally wise to put polyester gel coat on top of
epoxy.  It will bond, however, to our SB-112 epoxy formulation.
