Hi !
Regarding kayak-polo in the US. It is virtually unknown although
most large clubs play something like it when they are bored with
swimming pool practice. In terms of the skills required and the
fast and exciting nature of the game, its a natural for us here.
[I'm now trying to get some people interested in Pittsburgh!]
There are at least 2 difficulties though.1. many american
paddlers do not like team sports. and 2. a certain amount of
infrastructure is needed.
We can start tossing a ball around on a local river in our
WW boats but eventually goals are needed. It would be VERY
helpful if we could get cheap fiberglass polo boats here also.
My suggestion is to join the university club and bring along a water p polo ball to all outings and trainings!
Good luck! If you can start a team, maybe there will be 1 other
team [pittsburgh] so we can organize a US championship!
