The Javelin Class Association has located a yacht builder
who would like to put the Javelin back into production. We are
very eager to do this but first the builder needs to construct an
inner-hull mold. This would require sacrificing a boat and
cutting the outer hull apart.
The JCA is willing to pay many hundreds of dollars for any
decked Javelin with a good inner hull. The yacht builder will
provide the transportation.
Considering that a Javelin with no mast or rudder would cost
more to repair than the boat would be worth, there are likely to
be a number of Javelins we could use; the candidate need not have
a damaged outer hull!
Early Javelins had no inner hull so we need a unit produced
in the late 1970's or after; I believe the hull number would be
4000 or greater.
We are hoping to turn somebody's storm loss from a total
loss to partial loss. If anybody has any leads to follow, please
get in touch.
Another lead we would like to follow is to put a wanted-to-
buy ad in the Florida or New Orleans boat-trader tabloids (where
the hurricane went through); I would need to know the names and
phone numbers of these publications.
Not being experienced with e-mail, I would think mail and
telephone would be a more relible way to reach me. Thanks.
