Does anybody have any experience with wooden hulls with a layer (1 or
more) of fiberglass over it?
What sort of maintainance headaches does this create compared to plain
wood or all fiberglass/other plastic material?
thanks for the bandwidth

There was a book written by Alan Vitus called "Covering a wood Hull in
Fiberglass". He apparently has had good success with his method.
Suggest you check with a nautical bookstore and obtain the book. The
authors name and book title are close but may not be exact. Mebey some
good soul on the net can correct.

My experience has been: planked hull - don't, plywood - maybe, but
sand to bare wood and do it right the first time.

Covering Wooden Boats with Fiberglass, by Allan H. Vaitses, ISBN
0-87742-997-9. I found this one at a fiberglass supplier (TAP Plastics -
makes sense)
