Considering a JY 15 for a first boat to learn to sail. Any sugestions
would be appreciated. I live in southern/central California and may also
want to sail in the Gulf Coast (LA-TX-MS) area.Please e-mail back.

There are a lot of different boats in the JY15 size and price range.  All
of them are a lot of fun and would be a good first boat.  My suggestion
is to get whatever is being sailed in your area.  As you learn, you'll
want to sail/race with others and you'll appreciate having the same boat
as the group you want to sail with.

If you purchase a used boat (which makes a lot of good $$ sense), beware
of modifications which would have to be changed back to original to meet
class rules.  Again, a local club could be of assistance.
