Dry storage

Post by Matt Smi » Thu, 28 May 1998 04:00:00

I want to install a couple of dry storage compartments in my boat. I
purchased a couple of nice hatch lids, but I'm having trouble finding
inserts for this project. I called a couple of plastic molding companies
that are local, but they don't do small quantities, minumum quantity
was 100.:^( Surely there's someone that makes these inserts for marine
applications such as this. Any clues???

Thanks for any help,
Matt

Take a look at Boat US or West Marine. They sell an "insertable" tackle box
with hatch type lid for center consoles. I don't know if they are totally
waterproof but should give you a start,. They are expensive. What about a
***maid "tub" ???? regards RichG

You can make good ones from replacement plastic water tanks from Marine
Center or Boat-US. Not too expensive, and many different shapes and sizes.
You can also make custom battery boxes, etc. Also can be used to store
water-
