Looking for cheap dry storage in Florida (East coast)

Looking for cheap dry storage in Florida (East coast)

Post by Fritz Zauck » Thu, 25 Jan 1996 04:00:00

Sorry for the cross posting, but I thought that the readers of all
these groups might have some input.

I am looking for a boatyard or marina for dry storage of a 27 foot
sailboat. This would be for long-term (several 6-9 months
periods). Any suggestions for cheap places? I would prefer southern
Florida (East coast), but I could also go a bit further north or
perhaps to the gulf.

Any hints would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Fritz

I don't have a particular place to recommend, but I'd suggest trying on the
East coast around the Indian River/Stuart area or the Sarasota area on the
West coast.  Anywhere from Palm Beach down to the Keys up the West side to
Port C***te is premium boating teritory.  OTOH, if you have your own
trailer, you can easily get a $50 or so/month price almost anywhere in a dry
storage yard not affiliated with a marina.  We used to pay $43/mo for our old
trailer sailer 21' in a dry yard, length didn't matter, the 27' folding tri
next to us paid the same.
