hi I am looking for something to build over the summer  like a boat  or a
helmet or something I am 13 and need something to stop me from beeing bored and
i need the helmet to be tested for strength so it is safe i know some about
boat design and i am looking for some ideas to build and BTW the 007
RRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKSSSSSSSSSSS  se ya on the river

Hi,

Just saw your post and that no one had bothered to give you some info.

First off, working with glass, carbon, kevlar and resins is both
expensive and really toxic. I would figure unless your folks are
people who build stuff themselves, they won't be into your project.
If that doesn't frighten you, a place to find out about these
materials, including books, is Fibre Glast Corp.: 800 821 3283. Again,
don't think this is easy.

My suggestion for your summer, something I wish I had learned, is to
make your own garments for on and off the river. The money you'll save
can go into boats and helmets. A company that sells patterns and
materials for everything from bunny suits to bivy sacks is Rainshed,
541 753 8900.
