As of about April 15th,
the So Cal 16U ASA Nat'l Qual will be held in the beach hamlet called
Cardiff-By-The -Sea, just north of San Diego, CA.

Suggestions for airport is Lindbergh Field, San Diego, if you're flying
in.
"Affordable" motels/hotels can be found along Interstate 5 and a few miles
north in Carlsbad,

I would suggest staying away from the Mission Bay/ Sea World area as it
can get quite pricey.

Later

PS-For you coaches that also like to squeeze in a round of golf now and
then, Torrey Pines Golf Course is in the area and is a beautiful place to
scrape the ball around.

I can't stand is anymore!  The ASA 16U is going to be held in Encinitas CA on
Lake st. and in Carlsbad at Stagecoach park. (about 5 miles apart) San Diego
Breakers are hosting it.  I know it is hard to believe but San diego does have
an airport. You don't have to fly to LAX.  As an alternative you could fly
to John Wayne in Orange county, less than an hour drive away. The hotel
situation is a serious problem.  We have blocked 300 rooms for the
Ramada inn at 163 and clairemont mesa bl has 170 rooms
Economy inns of america in carlsbad  30 rooms
I cannot remember any more but when you register it is all in your info pack.
We are all working very hard to make this a first class event and will do
whatever we can to make it successful.

Still don't know where 16u qualifier is in Southern Cal?

Now we have all information gathered.
The 16-U National Qualifier on July 4, 5 & 6 will be held in Cardiff By
The Sea near Carlsbad.  Unfortunately, hotel accomodations were scarce in
Cardiff and nearby Carlsbad.
The Host hotel will be the "Town & Country" Resort in Hotel Circle, San
Diego. They have offered us as many rooms as we might need for ALL teams
to stay together.  It's a beautiful hotel and I strongly suggest all
teams stay there so that I can contact you easily without looking all
over San Diego for your team if I should have to get in touch with you.
Rooms will be available for $79.00 per night with a 2 day minimum stay
required.  When you call, ask for ASA 16-Under tournament rates.  (619)
291-7131.
If you have any questions, please give me a call.

Linda Henry,
16-U Travel Coordinator
Tournament Director
