My rumor mill says that Julie did win her battle. What happened is still vague
so who knows what will happen.

There is some info in the RBI newsletter. Did you really expect ASA/USA to post
on their board that they did not follow USOC guidelines when selecting the
team. That would be like UCLA telling the world about getting caught by the
NCAA. No I would bet that the information will be limited and hard to get.

Hey, this story has moved pretty fast. There's a couple of good articles
on the Fresno State site.  One has Smith saying the testamony at the
arbitration has Ralph Raymond dictating who the team would be to the
selection committee.  If that's true, looks like ASA better change more
than players.

Carol, that would be a miracle. You won't see anything from ASA except
possibly "We were right and the same team remains." They have some big
problems. The problems might be at the top of the organization.

They would be better off if they did, But it won't happen. ASA will stick by
him like glue so they can cover there butts.

Read the articles and one very important reason for the hearing was omitted.
Endor***ts and the 50 Grand each player will receive if the win the gold
medal. While I have alot of respect for Julie I do think it would have been
fair to mention the money in the article.

Good point, Don. I'd like to know about that too if it's true. I spent a
couple of hours looking through the ASA site and didn't find mention of
the money players get.  I think it's a good deal, worth fighting for. Do
coaches get the same thing? Then again, that story was pretty much
focused on the problems with the selection process. Maybe someone will do
another article about payouts.

Mel I do not know what the coaches are getting if anything but I have been told
the players will receive 50 grand for a gold medal. I have no problem with the
money issue but think it needs to brought out. Endor***ts are out there for
these ladies and that is good and bad for the sport.

Jazz, once again you are off the point!  The rec leauge doesn't have a rule
saying that the try outs are everything.  The ASA did.  If you don't like the
rule, you shouldn't have made it...take it away.  You can't have it both ways
'these are the rules....unless i dont like the way they turn out'....It is like
playing tic tac toe and deciding if you get to be X or O after its
over......The ASA just wants total domanince over every aspect of this sport,
and they have not been doing a great job with their authority.
