For those in the Central and Northern CA area or who hapen to be
traveling to Sacrament on business, there is an open foil tournament in
Sacramento this Sunday.

Below is an excerpt from a recent email from George Biery on the event
and directions to the venue...

Quote:

>Club.... hopes that some of your adventurous fencers might come over
>for our Open Foil Tournament.  The tournament will be held on Sunday,
>October 1 at the Sacramento Fencing Club - 4126 Manzanita Boulevard.
>Registration will close at 9:00a and I am pretty sure that the cost is
>the standard $7 for seniors and $5 for juniors.  And now the >directions:
>From San Jose take 680 East (?)

Take the Mission Boulevard cut-over to 880 East (?)
Take 880 East(?) to Interstate 80 East
Take I-80 East to the Madison Exit
Head East on Madison (I think it's the only direction to go)
Take Madison heading East for about 1/4 to 1/2 mile until Manzanita
Turn Right onto Manzanita (heading South)
The club is at 4126 Manzanita Boulevard - on the Eastern side of the
street.  The club is located behind the Blockbuster and Remax building
behind the Remax office.

We are really looking forward to seeing some Central California Division
Fencers at this tournament.  It really isn't a long drive and it sure
helps in getting the experience of fencing new folks.  At this
tournament, your members will have the chance to fence fencers from
Chico, Fresno, Santa Rosa, Sonoma, Napa, Humboldt, and of course, Sacramento.

So give it some thought.
