So, y'all thought you'd heard the last of the "sabre sweeties" controversy, eh?
I was certainly hoping so, but I got a call from Ruby Watson in New York
saying that even though they already had half the necessary entries well in
advance of the deadline, a Ms. Nancy Anderson from New Jersey (official
position unknown, but I think she's head of the bout committee) has vetoed
the whole thing.  As of yet, I don't know why.  I can't imagine that they have
a satisfactory answer for this one, though!

Let you know as soon as I hear anything more!

What's the deal about this?

I know of at least three women from the So. Cal. division who sent in their
entries last weekend for Women's Saber at the San Fran. Circuit. They want
very much to fence other women from around the country.

Who should they talk to?

Possibly a lawyer....this is sex discrimination period.  Unless the
USFA can present a compelling reason to prevent women from participating in
sabre events against other women or even a mixed event, women should be allowed
to participate.

Just my thoughts, sometimes threatened legal action can do wonders. :)
