        ODE TO A FOIL

I hate my maraging,
That lifeless stick,
That bar of iron,
That piece of shit.

I hate my maraging,
From button to end,
It weighs a ton,
It will not bend.

My maraging foil,
With its FIE stamp,
When I try to coupe
It makes my hand cramp.

It costs a bundle
Each time that one breaks,
But they last twice as long...
So it works out the same.

Or that's what they say,
But the truth, I'm afraid,
Is they shatter as often
As any cheap blade!

Love your ode, Jeff.  BTW, you gotta get a good type of maraging.  I had
a couple of maraging war clubs, but lately I got a few from Europe, and
they're only slightly heavier than a regular foil blade.  With a decent
tip on it, I can coupe to peoples backs with the best of em..

There is a lot of variation in regular foil blades though, I have one
blade that is ridiculously light.  I mean incredibly light.  So light
that a flick from this blade is impossible to parry; human arms just
don't stick out that far.  I don't use it much though.  Just on
lefties....
