Please let us know what you learn from phoning the USFA.   I had raised
the
question on the calendar page, which still shows the venue as To Be
Determined.   We've bought non-cancellable plane tickets, so if this
event isn't
going to happen, we'll be spending more time visiting cactus than
planned!

I just got the information in the mail last night.  Site is the Tucson
Convention Center.  Hotels are within walking distance and include the
Holiday Inn City Center ($60 per night, phone 800-HI-TUCSON) or the Park Inn
International Santa Rita ($65 per night, phone 602-622-4000).  You probably
will be getting the confirmation material soon.

See you there!   Jessie

The Arizona Sonora Desert Museum is probably what you mean.  I was there in
about 1970 (oops - I'm dating myself.  Most of my competitors next weekend
probably weren't even born by then) with my folks and it was really neat.
From what I remember, there were lots of cacti with desert animals dispersed
throughout, so it was kind of like a zoo and a botanical garden all
rolled into one.  I'm really looking forward to seeing it again.

Jessie (looking forward to some warm weather after the -55 wind chill
factor of this AM)

Yes, looks like the material is finally arriving for everyone.   By the
way, I've
heard there is a very unusual outdoor park/zoo in the area.  Does anyone

know any of the details?   We're heading north after the tournament to
see
if there's snow in the Grand Canyon....

Good luck at the tournament!
