Hello all. The Mid-Atlantic/Southern NCAA regionals just took place at
UNC last weekend, and if I had the results I would post them.
Unfortunately I don't have them, but when I do I'll post them, along with
a list of those who made it to the nationals at the University of Notre
Dame, which will be in two weeks.
However, I had a question. I am from a small Division III college -
Haverford college - but myself and one other team member did indeed make
it to nationals. We were wondering if, besides NYU, (who, in my mind, has
got to be the biggest and best-budgeted Div III school I've ever seen),
are there any other Div III schools who are sending anybody to Nationals?
The only other DIV III "powerhouse" in our region is Johns Hopkins
University, but they did not bring their full team to the regionals and,
to the best of my knowledge, did not qualify anybody. Vassar is the one
team I can think of in the Northeast region, but other than them, does
anybody know what Div III schools are out there with solid fencing
programs? We are curious as to where we rank in the nation amongst other
Div III schools. Our conference - the MAC conference - has Div III teams
from the Southeast and Northeast, but that's about it. Are there any
midwestern or western Div III schools out there with kick-ass fencing
programs?
If anybody out there knows, please let me know.
To all of you collegiates - see ya in two weeks.
And thank you to North Carolina for hosting the regionals. Y'all did a
great job.
