Fencing in Santa Barbara CA?

Post by Eric Augusti » Thu, 18 Jan 1996 04:00:00

Once upon a time long ago a man named Marc Berger ran fencing
in Santa Barbara.  He has long since left, apparently - and I
am now attempting to get re-involved in the sport.  My problem
is that there does not seem to be a contact point here.  If
anyone knows of a contact for fencing in Santa Barbara (or
someplace relatively close) I would much appreciate the info.

Thanks -

You mean, once upon a time, we had a headache called Mark Berger.  I believe
UCSB still has a club and that non-students can participate in the club
(but can't obviously fence in the SoCal Intercollegiate Fencing Conference).

I don't have contacts, but I'm quite sure there are people there.

Well - Yes - however - being that this is a public forum I didn't
really want to vent my personal opinion of Marc Berger.  His history
was impressive - his personality left much to be desired and since
at the time he was fencing here - I stopped fencing.
