team nationals and maraging foil blades

team nationals and maraging foil blades

I'm looking for information of the team event at Nationals this year.  Most
important is information on entry.  If anyone knows, it is important that I
get this information by tomorrow if at all possible.  Thanks a bunch for
your help.

I am also looking for information regarding maraging foil blades.  I talked
to Triplette the other day and was informed that the only blades that meet
the 95 FIE standards are the Blase (sp?) blades sold either under the
Allstar/Uhlmann name or the Triplette name.  Now, what I am wondering is are
they really as good as Triplette claims?  Or is this just more of their hype.
Also, are they the _only_ 95 FIE blades or is this like when Triplette started
the rumor that Leon paul was going out of business a few years ago.  Just
looking for a good maraging foil blade.  I have (had) a bunch of the 94
Russians and they are nice blades, but they don't last that long.  If anyone
has any suggestions on a good maraging foil blade, I'd appreciate it.  Thanks
a bunch for your help-

I can say with out fear my firm belief that one should rarely if ever
believe what triplette tells you over the phone. I'm speaking from
experience. If you want to find out real information , they you should
talk to a USFA armorer; they know the real stuff. As for the Blaise forge
baldes... I have one, and they're ok. They're really light, seriously. On
the other hand they're expensive. You're right about the '94 russians, I
ditto that. As for 95 FIE blades, who cares whether they're _the_ FIE
blades? I don't think the FIE would keep people from fencing in their
world cups if the guy showed up with a 94 blade. All I can say is, TCA
probably is overstocked on their Blaise blades and needs to get rid of
them. Hence, we now have a new "policy."

See y'all in New Jersey!
