looking for volleyball in Minnesota.....

Post by William N. Rodenhurst Jr » Sun, 07 Apr 1996 04:00:00

I have been playing v-ball in California both outdoor grass and in the
USVBA 'AA' bracket for the past 3-4 years.  I have just moved out to
Minneapolis MN for about 6 mos for School and am trying to find where I
can play some "competive" volleyball in the area. Yes it is cold here
even in April (something I am not used to) but the summers really warm
up here from what I understand.  Does anyone have any ideas of what the
volleyball scene is like up here in cold country in the summer months?
Does anyone want to play in a competitive 2-man tourney (grass) if they
have them here?

any response would be appreciated.

For indoor VB year-round, the 2 main places to check out are:
Midwest VB in Burnsville (898-5400) and the Volleyball Gym in
Robbinsdale (536-8258 / 521-7310).  For sand VB, the premier
competition takes place at Thomas Beach on the SW corner of
Lake Calhoun.  Sorry, but I can't help much with grass VB.  I
receive occasional mailings for grass tourneys, but don't know of any
regular competitions.

What school are you attending?  If you are at the "U", try going to
the gym on Friday evenings or Saturday mornings.
