Spike Nashbar (1-800-SPIKE-IT) has _active ankle braces_ ($38 each).
They're fairly common in VB (seeing as you are new to the sport) and
provide all of the flexibility you'll need to play.  These types of
braces are comfortable and they give you good anti-snap-roll-over
protection.  Many teams _require_ that the players wear them!
