There were tons of great entries. We chose two winners in each contest and
a bunch of honorable mentions. Winners can pick up their prizes between
noon and 1:00 PM or between 4:00 and 5:00 PM in room C111
The Winners:
You might be a volleyball parent if
You don?t know what city you?re in or what the weather is like outside,
but you know what court your daughter is playing on!  Sandy Lopata, West
Suburban Volleyball Club 16?s.
During a family discussion one parent says side out.!  Jim & Margrethe
Eidet, Mankato Skeeters 17?s.
Honorable Mention:
You know that Court is not where you went to file bankruptcy (due to the
cost of your daughter?s off season volleyball). Set is not a pair. Ace
is not a card. Spike is not a haircut. Dig is not what you do in the
garden. Shank is not a cut of beef. Hit is not one of the top ten
songs. Pancake is not a breakfast food. Dump is not where you take
your trash. Block is not a child?s toy. El Paso Sunspots 17?s.
 You?ve named your children Digger, Spike, Ace & Shank.  El Paso Sunspots

 You have left your daughter?s favorite pillow in every city.  KJVA 16

You spend your ten year wedding anniversary on an airplane getting motion
sickness with an 8 hour layover in Ft. Worth, Texas on your way to the USA
Junior National Championships.  Candi Scrougham (parent) and Michelle

After the van breaks down, your husband leaves not one but two bank cards
in the ATM teller, only to find out the night before your flight has been
cancelled, you get the team on the next available flight 7 hours later in
first class except you know who is in row 31.  PS sadly all true, but you
are still looking forward to the tournament.  Sarah Beck, Kaepa Circle

You lose your car in a parking lot and then back up on the interstate
because you missed your exit to the gym.  KJVA 16 Red.
The conversation at the dinner table is always turned back to volleyball.

You find a way to tell complete strangers that your daughter won the
national championship last year.  Sharon Shelton/Amanda Siler, Power 16?s

Your only social life revolves around your child?s tournaments.  Karla

You count volleyballs instead of sheep to go to sleep.  Carol Van Scharck,

You have so many tournament stickers on your car windows that you can?t
see out anymore.  Sarah Eckrich.  Fort Wayne Blue 16 Open.
The referees know you by name.  Christie Davis, NKJV Aces 17?s.
You pack your bags a week before.  Kelly Cochran, Dunes Price 12-1.
All your clothes in your closet have your daughter?s club name on them
(Dunes Volleyball Club).  Jamie Ashmore, Dunes Price 12-1.
The Winners:
She mishandled the ball so badly
Marie and Dan Lena were called in to reassure the ball that it was
special and had a purpose.  Linda Smith & Gayle Costanzo, El Paso
Sunspots 17?s Chaperones.
 It wouldn?t come out of the bag for the next match.  Carol Van Schaick,
LIBA Blue 18 Club.
Honorable Mention:
The ball complained to the referee.  Christie Davis, NKJV Aces 17?s.
 Her fingers got stagefright and froze!  Jodie Antypus, Kaepa City Beach
Black 17-1.
 It sued for harassment!  Sarah Eckrich, Fort Wayne Blue 16 Open.
 It was next used in a football game.  Carol Van Schaick, LIBA Blue 18
Club.
 That the frog (team mascot) turned red and croaked.  Jill Pavlicek, Kaepa
Circle City 16 Sideout.
