The Spalding Big Shot Volleyball Series, hosted by Rider Sandals, will return to St. Augustine Beach on April 6-7, 2013. Teams from throughout the East Coast will compete as they warm up for the 2013 Pro Beach Volleyball Tour. All events are sanctioned by Volley America.
Two Olympians have signed up for the St. Augustine event:
? Riley Salmon, from Texas, who was on the 2008 US Volleyball Gold Medal Olympic team. Riley played at Clear Creek High School in Texas and Pierce College in CA before entering the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour. He joined the US National Team in volleyball in 2001 and played internationally through the Olympic Gold Medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics
? Steve Grotowski, born in London and currently residing in Boynton Beach, FL. Steve represented Great Britain in the 2012 Olympics in London. He played college ball at University of New Haven before moving on to the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour. In 2012 he finished 2nd in the Jose Cuervo Pro Beach Volleyball tours Belmar Open
Top womens players include Belleair Beach Pro Player Tara Kuk playing with Canadian defensive specialist Viky Balian, Webber University starts Karolina Sowala and Chantell Jordan.

About East End Volleyball
East End Volleyball has been organizing beach volleyball tournaments for 34 years since 1977. Based in the East End of Long Island, EEVB has grown into the largest beach volleyball series in the East End of the country with tournaments from Newport, RI to Hollywood, Florida. Sanctioned by the Volley America, EEVB runs over 35 events for 4,000 plus players. The highest level in the tournaments, the Open Division, is equivalent to AAA Baseball and funnels players into the Pro Beach Volleyball Tour.

Volley America is an organization for beach volleyball promoters whose goal is to promote beach volleyball throughout the US. By cooperating and charging a national membership fee, players are able to compete in numerous tournaments, earn national ranking points and qualify for end of the season cash prizes in the $25,000 Volley America grand Prix.
