TAUNTING AT CANADA PRO TOUR STOP

Post by gavin wilso » Tue, 27 Jul 1999 04:00:00

This was my 2nd year attending the supposedly vancouver tour stop in
abbotsford, at walmsley lake. The first thing that you notice when you get
there is how small all of the pro wakeboarders are. Im not just talking the
shane bonifays either, im talking about the vast majority of them. I
couldn't beleive how small chase heavener was when i saw him walking out
with, so its no wonder he can bust such as huge front flip when he looks
like the miniature version of the incredible hulk.
Darin Shapiro may go off, an' all but ive got 14" on him and 100 pounds,
so it just seems like ill have to accept that ill never be able to go as big
as him unless i get that the 5' high wake ive always dreamed of. I've also
be thinking that my 147 graffiti probably isn't big enough, so im going to
build myself one out of marine plywood and make it about 8 feet long and 3
feet wide. Hey at least ill make scott byerly look ***on his wakeskate.
Anyway enough of my crapping about not being designed to do a double
front, but at least i could beat the ***out of most of the pro waterskiers
(except for carl roberge). The rider i think who is going to be the
domineering force for the next few years isn't that guy who does the wake to
wake elephants (brannan johnson), its gonna be parks, yeah parks. I saw the
way he smiled back at me when i shouted for him to do the double front as he
was getting ready for his double up. I could tell by that look what he was
thinking "hey buddy i could take darin shapiro on or off the water". Quite
frankly i beleive him, as soon as he gets that double back flip dialed in
enough so he can through it consistenly at contests, then and ONLY then will
he be eclipsing the rest of those wake to wakers. OH yeah stuharik done a
killer hoochie glide off teh double up.
