i have been waterskiing for about 4 years.  I can drop a ski and ski slalom,
but i can't seem to get out of the water on one ski.  anyone got any tips???
i've tried to different techniques, one dragging my back foot behing me and the
other one both feet one the ski, i've had the most luck with the first one.

Use a nice big flat ski to learn how to do this.  It's much easier.

Another good trick is to get a handle that has a long vee in the rope so
that you can put the ski directly in the vee.  This keeps the ski centered
as you come out of the water.  A number of ski suppliers sell these.  I
just made one out of an old handle and some 1/4" poly for a couple bucks.

Remember to bend your knees all the way to your chest and don't try to get
up too quickly.  One ski takes twice as much pressure to support your
weight than two skis do, which translates to more speed.
