HIGH WINDS TROUBLE TEAM CANADA

Roquebrune-sur-Argens, FRANCE - Sixty kilometer per hour winds on day
one of the 1995 World Water Ski Championships served detrimental for
Canada's men slalom skiers today. Matt Rini (Sydenham, Ontario) and
Kreg and Jaret Llewellyn (Innisfail, Alberta) all fell unusually early


Having not qualified for the slalom finals, these three skiers must now
improve their performances in the trick event tomorrow on day two of
the tournament. Drew Ross (Belleville, Ontario) will slalom his
preliminary round Friday morning.

Canadian women beginning their preliminary events on Friday include:
Judy Messer (Streetsville, Ontario) in slalom and tricks and World
record holder Susi Graham (Kitchner, Ontario) in slalom. Team Canada,
defending World Champions, look forward to continuing and improving
their performances Friday on day 2 of the 1995 Worlds.
