Malibu dlr in/near N. Carolina?

I recently got a brochure from Malibu and it said the nearest dealer was in
Orlando!  I'm in Wilmington, N.C. (on the coast) and I wondered if anyone
knew of a dealer closer to me.  Thanks in advance!

There is a dealer in Belmont NC, and Seneca SC.
If you buy out of state you don't pay sales tax, so I've been told. I will
no for sure tomorrow.

Perhaps until you register it in your state.  At least that is the way it
happens here, an out of state CO indicates a sales tax collection.  All states
are not created equal, maybe you'll get lucky.

When I bought my houseboat technically as a trade from a company in
Kentucky, I had to pay sales tax when I registered it in TN. Not only
that but that company was audited and sent me a letter asking for proof
that I had paid my sales tax last month.

Until you register it.  Then NC will get their due - you gotta pay to
play.

Found out today that you pay 3% on in state and out of state boats. The
paying of sales tax on out of state purchase is up to the buyer, it doesn't
happen at registration time(according to NC Wildlife Commission). I suppose
the Commission gives the info to the Sales and revenue dept and they will
check on you.
