I am also going to do Wildflower long course next May, and I will most
likely modify my Olympic Distance program to get ready (longer long
runs, longer bricks, longer long rides. I would suggest you get into
base building mode as soon as possible. You need to build distance
slowly to prevent injury, and with little training currently, you have
a long way to go.
That being said, visit www.trinewbies.com for some helpful info as
well as a list of training programs which you may find helpful. They
have an 18 week 1/2 ironman program that looks decent, but I think it
might be a little light on run/bike miles. Perhaps someone with 1/2
and full iron experience can comment further.
