RST'ers going to Gulf Coast Triathlon?

Since the Wildflower list is growing, maybe I can make up a list for those
heading southeast in May to do the GCT. Shouldn't be hard to find a place to
meet down there by the way; all the festivities happen within only a half-mile
stretch of shore.

Happy training.

I'll be there.  I used to live in Panama City but never did the race when I
lived there.

In 1988 I was in charge of all the boats provided by the Navy, to cover the
swim.  It was a very rough swim and the waves lifted the buoys off the bottom
and floted them off course.  Race officals call me on the radio aand had me
lead the lead swimmers with a  buoy tied to the back of my boat.  Hope they do
a better job of anchoring the buoys now!

I travel to Panama City several times a year on business and love it there.
See ya in May, Jim

I give you a warning about last year's race. It was cold and the winds were
blowing in the "wrong" direction, that is, the headwind was at the beginning of
the ride. The other 4 years I've gone it was just the opposite, a stiff hot
wind at the tail end of the course when you are a little weary, and hot
relentless miserable day on the half-marathon with no shade. Now that is what I
call a triathlon!
:-)

Anyway, after one day I have 10 names, a great response! Maybe we get get more
names than Tricia and her Wildflower compatriots. :-)

Happy training.

R S T = Rec. Sport. Triathlon...this newsgroup (don't you hate when
something is so obvious you don't see it?) I'll be looking for everyone at
Gulf Coast, too.

Cheers,
Andrew
