Shoulder Stretching for swimming

Shoulder Stretching for swimming

Does anyone know of a good reference to learn proper stretching
techniques for swimming.  My shoulders tend to tighten up when I am not
swimming consistently, and would like to have some dry exercises to work
on my flexibility.  Any help is greatly appreciated!  Please post or
Email.

Well Scott i don't know any reference books that you may use but, i usually
do a series of exercises recommended my physiotherapist that i'll try to
explain:

1. Grab your left elbow with your right hand and pull down as if you wanted
your left hand to grab your but. Do it for about 30 secs and repeat it 3
times.Reverse the hands.

2. Put your left hand over your right shoulder (this one fills good!) and
grab your left elbow until your bicep almost touches your neck. 3*30secs.
Reverse.

3. Do like in 1, only this time with your arm behind your back and pushing
upwards. 3*30secs. Reverse.

If the shoulders still persist to be tight then at the end of the practice
or when you wake up try grabing some hand weights (or something like that),
bend over and swing your arms doing large and slow circles.
This kind of exercises worked very well with me when i was having some
injuries due to lack of muscular flexibility.
