List of rst'ers going to IMC '97???

Post by Rolf Aran » Thu, 10 Oct 1996 04:00:00

Is anyone keeping a list of "rst" people going to Penticton
in 1997?

I know Jason has the mailing list, but I think the list
has non-participants as well.  Thanks.

If someone is putting together a list, please include me. I guess that I'm

Add Ned Ivanov to the list.  Ned is one of my colleagues at work.
His list of accomplishments: how about 76+ marathon finishes,
several ironman finishes, and (my favorite) IMC followed by
the Esprit Ironman 13 days later (where he set a PR).

In the interest of not making those RSTers feel like they're a bunch of
slobs for NOT doing IMC '97, I'm hereby starting a list of those NOT going
to IMC next year.  You must first volunteer that you're not doing this
race and then give a solid reason why you're NOT.

Here's my excuse:

I don't speak Canadian.

What's your's?

Tucker Newberry
Looking forward to racing only distances that take less than 6 hrs. in '97
(Only 70 Days until XMAS '96)

I don't want to get a passport photo because I don't photograph well!

Nope, that one won't do, Bruce.  If that excuse were feasible, *I* could
have used it, but now look at me!!!  Thank god you lot don't get to see
that mug shot stapled to my IMC application.....

Hey, are Americans required to have a passport for travelling to Canada?
Don't laugh, that's an honest question, I don't know!

I still haven't gotten to the 1/2 IM distance yet.

themselves to be near Penticton during IMC97 to watch?

Generally a good idea.  Not so much for getting into Canada, but for
getting *back* into the US.
