Any netters going to be doing the Great Floridan this year?  Anyone want
to link up for Lunch on Friday?

Also, Twin-Labs (Hydra-Fuel) pulled out last week, so CFT/Sommer will use
Gatarade in this years race.

  Howdy - I'll be getting down to Florida on Tuesday afternoon (10/18).
 I'll be staying at the Howard Johnson's in Clermont.  I'll either be
listed under Neal or Sharon Henderson. P.S. I would enoy any final week
and race day guidance from any Great Floridian or Ironamn veterans.

The best advice I can give you is to drink lots of fluids and pace
yourself on the bike.  Just because the race is in Florida, most people
assume the bike course will be flat...it's not.  We don't have any major
climbs, but get ready for a roller coaster ride the first 30 miles.  Our
new course doesn't have the killer hills the last 12 miles, but you'll
face the "Beast" at mile two on the run.  

Some last minute course changes on the bike will make the bike course
about 1.8 miles long.  Sorry....a complete course description with
locations of the bottle exchanges will be in the race packets.

Well sorry that I can't make it all the way from Finland for lunch, but I'd
be interested to know how your training has been progressing.

My wife Joan and I will both be competing in the Great Floridian.  
It's our 1 year anniversary, since we were married at the finish
line last year.  Hopefully this year won't be as exciting as last
year when Joan made each of the swim, bike, and finish cutoffs by
less than two minutes, and she was taken to the medical tent for an
I.V. immediately after the ceremony.  She had a chance to go to the
Hawaiian Ironman this year, but is skipping it to come back to Clermont.
