Any word yet on whether Greg Bennett will be mounting a legal challenge to
his non-selection?

Tks

Yes he has... the only athletes not to do so from the original squad are
Joanne King (look for her at an Ironman near you soon!) and Chris McCormack
who has also not ruled out a switch to long distance races ...

So we now have four challenges from Jackie Gallagher, Emma Carney, Bennett
and Brad Beven.

Thanks for the info.  Personally, I think the selection process was pretty
poor.  Without dumping on Robbo's effort in winning the selection trial in
Sydney, it was a mighty effort, I think his consistency is suspect.  Bennett
has a terrific record of success and consistency and would be my pick ahead
of Robbo.  Others opinions?

Going into his 10th place finish at Worlds, Greg Bennett had not placed in
the
top 10 of any ITU triathlon since last June, including 4 DNFs in 9 races.

Robertson may not have Bennett's triathlon history, but he has done extremely
well this year.  Since last July, he has only missed the top-10 once in ITU
races.  This streak includes his now well known 1st at Oceania Regionals, 1st
at Sydney (guaranteeing him the slot), and 2nd at Perth.  In terms of the
requirements set up by Triathlon Australia, he has done exactly what was
required.
