Hi everybody,
here we go with part two of Phil Squire`s IME questions:

Quote:
>>I hope to stay self-catering any idea how much this would cost / who to

contact?<<

For Information contact:
Adress No. 1:   Aussenstelle Haus des Gastes in Hipoltstein
Street:         Maria-Dorothea-Strasse
Town:           Hipoltstein
ZIP:            91161
Phone:          GERMANY 9174-9042
Fax:            Germany 9174-9044

Adress No.2:    Landratsamt Roth Kultur und Tourismus
ZIP:            91154
Town:           Roth
Street:         Weinbergweg 1
Phone:          GER-9171-81329
Fax:            GER-9171-81399
Both are kind of tourist informations and surely will help you.
If you like camping (but ONLY for the last night before the race): Stay
directly
near the start/ T1 area; there is a large field of clay/ grass approx. 200
mts
beside the T1-area. Overnight camping is not "really" forbidden; and maybe
some
of the local farmers gain some money by lending the place. This year there
were
about 100 Motorhomes in that place, and on a grass field close to it there
were
some tents.
This area is just across the road from the start/ T1 area. Staying there
for the
last night (if possible) will save you time and will be healthy for your
brain.

>>How is the swim: navigation, crowded, water clear etc?<<

Navigation:     easy. go one way, turn around, go back.
Water:          crowded (400 racers in one group)
Water quality:  Temp: approx. 20 Degree Celsius, visibility: 50 cm, taste:
O.K.,
water feels very smooth, I liked it to swim in.

Quote:
>>What do they have? Gel? PB?<<

Swim:           none of the above
Bike:           Power bars, Sqeezy, Banana, other fruit, water, coke, some carbo
drink (comes from some german pharmaceutic enterprise, I didn`t
like it, took it only because one of my water bottles had ejected
from the bottleholder. Can`t recommend it)
Run:            same as above plus salty snacks and sal***er

Quote:
>>Is the run as flat as it looks on TV?<<

It is. Flat, hot and boaring.

Quote:
>>Are the crowds as big as they look on TV?<<
