12 week ironman program-help

It is now 12 weeks to Ironman USA Lake Placid. I was wondering if there is any
place on the internet with a 12 weeks  to Ironman program. Does anyone have a
basic program I could look at just to get an idea. If no what I was going to do
is take the last 12 weeks off a longer program I found on trinewbies.com..

Check at www.multisport.com
Paul Huddle and Roch Frey have a 12 week Ironman plan available for ~$200
that includes a training schedules and tapes, also includes e-mail
feedback, I think.

cheers,
Andrew

Triathlete Magazine had a 13 week program they published sometime last year.
Don't know if it's online, though.

Good luck.  See you at Lake Placid.

You could try www.trinewbies.com or www.triathletemag.com (go to the
training link)

If you have trouble finding what you need then I can fax or post you a copy.
There is some shading that doesn't fax too well.  gbyrn at scpal dot com

Hi, thanks for writing back. I have the trinewbies ironman training program,
and I am just using the last 12 weeks. I will check the triathlonmag link.. By
the way, I have something you wrote that I am planning on bringing to my first
half next week in Florida.. Its Ironman Racing Tips from trinewbies..
I know I am ready for the 1/2 ironman and  I am pretty confident of 6.5 hours
with not much trouble. I am just clueless as to weather I can go from being
trained and ready for a 1/2 but not  much more then that, to a full ironman in
10 weeks.. I am starting to freak out!!! Ken McCann

Ken -

Relax, the key thing to remember is that you have plenty of time to finish
the IM.  Just take it real easy on the bike and the swim.  If you can get
through a 1/2 IM in 6.5 hours then you should have no problems as long as
you don't hammer the bike on the full.  It won't be easy (it never is) but
you can do it.

Good luck,
