Poll: Training hours per week 1998 vs 1999

Dear RST:  Happy New Year!

I'm curious and would love to see your responses.
I am a wana-tri and ran and cross trained about 9 hours a week average
in 1998.  Would love to have 21 hours to invest but that would is hard
with 3 Kids, work and Scouting.
So for 1998: 9 hours per Week vs 1999 I goinf for 12 hours per Week.

So, here's mine:
98=9
99=12
How about you?

Happy Training!
Johnny (Oh you mean that Eat-Drink-Run isn't triathlon) Wana-tri.

Poll: Training hours per week 1998 vs 1999

Last year, on average, I probably did the following:

Run:  7 hours
Bike:  5 hours
Swim:  3 hours

This year, it'll probably look like:
Run:  8
Bike: 8
Swim:  6

So, I'm planning an increase from 15 to 22 hours.

Last year was my first year of triathlon.  Part of the reason the cycling
hours were so light was that cycling was the only discipline I already had
some proficiency in.  I needed the work on the run and swim more so than the
cycle.

Not married, girlfriend is a triathlete and competitive marathoner.  So,
it's more acceptable for me to spend the time training.

Happy New Year to you, too!

I'm just getting back into triathlons and will attempt to get in 10
hours per week.  This means getting up at 5:00 M, W, F to go do the
masters swim.  I'm also sneaking in some time by taking 1/2 hour
lunches instead of 1 hour lunches.  I'm going back to school at night
to finish my BS degree so it's going to be interesting to see how well
I can juggle it all.

Take Care, Zack Jones
