I'll be going. My accomidations fell through so I have to drive down Sat
AM. Fortunately I entered the elite wave. Unfortunately I messed up my
back and haven't run in two weeks. I'll try to get there to see everyone
finish. Anyone who sticks around can then see me near the front in the
swim (I hope :), near the middle off the bike, and toward the back at the
finish...

I'll be there.  This is local for me, so at least I'll know where to find
a good cup of coffee before the race.

(For one, Starbucks at Del Monte Center -- take the Munras off-ramp from
southbound highway one and turn right -- it's the exit just before the Hwy
68 exit described in the race info.  Easy on-and-off freeway access for a
fast hit.  Plus there's a couple more good coffee places in PG proper.)

The weather this week has tended toward fog, although the north side of
the peninsula -- where we'll be racing -- tends to get less of it than
Carmel, where I work, or Fort Ord, where I live.  The fog keeps things
cool, but sunny days in this part of the world are glorious, and it
doesn't get too hot along the water, anyway.  I'm hoping for sun.

Please feel free to email me if there's any info I can help track down for
anyone.

Good luck, and enjoy the kelp!

You might try the place I found: Super 8 in Salinas (408)422-6486.  They
had lots of space just a few days ago.

BTW, if you hadn't guessed, I'll be there, too.  I haven't done any
training since faux-alcatraz -- I feel like a marshmallow (but not quite as
buoyant).  "What's that white blob bobbing in the bay, Daddy?"  "I'm not
sure, son.  It looks like the Stay-Puft man ... "
